What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis, treatment, management and prevention of disorders affecting the musculoskeletal system (joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves) of the body, concentrating primarily on your spine and nerves.
Chiropractors work with the spine, not necessarily because it's the source of neck and back pain, but because it houses and protects the spinal cord and nervous system. Every life sustaining process depends on the integrity of this communication network between the brain and the body.
Irritation and interference to this flow of information across the complex and sensitive nerve system can be caused by mechanical stress from the spine leading to pain and ill health; this is what Chiropractors correct.
We do this by gentle, specific spinal adjustments with our hands to free joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly. This improves the structural integrity of the body and restores health and your ability to self-heal.
We all suffer from aches and pains from time to time and accept that they will probably go away soon or ‘get better tomorrow’. Pain is a warning sign that something is wrong and therefore shouldn’t be ignored! Taking medication only masks the symptoms.
Chiropractic care will establish and treat the cause of the problem, helping you, your family and friends live a pain-free life and achieve better health naturally. Chiropractic is the third largest primary health care profession in the world behind medicine and dentistry and offers a safe, drug-free, non-surgical approach to health care.
